LNYDP web design and mobile site

Web design and dedicated mobile site for LNYDP  (London New Years Day Parade). Celebrating the fun and spectacle of the parade and helping users find out information about the performers and travel arrangements on the day.

The challenges presented by the LNYDP web design and mobile site

To create a digital experience that adapts to the varying needs of the website users throughout the year. And to capture the family-friendly feel of the event.

The parade happens once a year, so there is a big surge in traffic in the lead up to New Years day as people look up travel information, and find out news about the performers.

The site needs to work hard throughout the rest of the year too with information for prospective performers, press enquiries, social media and merchandise requirements.

Our approach

Mash illustrated various characters from the parade, allowing them to take centre stage across the desktop and mobile site. This gave a flavour of the event with lots of local references and humour. This was all underpinned by a strong grid based responsive framework and separate mobile site to give the viewer a truly user-friendly, fun experience.
