Client feedback

“Creative people with consummate social skills and the ability to respond to client niggles with barely a grumble, are rarer than hens teeth! Mash has them aplenty.”
David Webb, Editor. Final Cut

The challenge

To refresh an existing mark and give it a new feel without losing the brand equity built up over a decade of trading.

Our approach

We worked collaboratively with Final Cut presenting a variety of logos each incrementally different. This allowed us to gauge how far they were comfortable moving from their existing logo, and also allowed them to visually see what their brand could become. They instinctively knew which design would work best for them and in response to their feedback we developed the final mark. We also subtly changed the colour palette to shift it from a dated terracotta to a more vibrant purple.

The new logo for Final Cut Editors

A fresh mark that was rolled out comprehensively on all stationery, advertising materials and digital marketing.

Our ongoing relationship with Final Cut has meant we can produce one off marketing pieces for them. These include the screen-printed fabric bag which use original illustrations, and extends their visual language adding depth to the brand.

Further feedback from the client included:

“From the outset Mash interrogated our intractable brief with creativity and professionalism. From the initial meeting to the final presentation, we were never disappointed.

An initial presentation of a variety of treatments allowed us to hone our brief still further and the designers were happy to amend the design in line with our comments; we could not be happier with the work that they have done for us.”
David Webb, Editor. Final Cut.
